Heidi Scheid
Heidi Scheid grew up in Costa Mesa, California and earned both her BS and MBA degrees from University of Southern California. Early on, she fell in love with the restaurant business and waitressed her way through both high school and college, eventually managing the very first California Pizza Kitchen in Beverly Hills. This was also when she fell in love with wine and she distinctly remembers that first life-changing sip of Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon. Deciding that restaurant life in the 80’s was not conducive to living a long life, she switched gears, earned her MBA with an emphasis in Finance and joined the valuation consulting practice at Ernst & Young.
Heidi joined Scheid Family Wines in 1992 as Director of Planning and served as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer from 1997 to 2001. Since 2001 she has overseen sales and marketing for a wide ranging portfolio of wines for the company and racked up many frequent flyer miles in the process. During her tenure, Heidi has helped expand Scheid’s vineyard holdings to 12 estate sites and taken the wines of the Scheid family to every state in the U.S. and 13 different countries (and counting).
Heidi is an active and engaged member of the California wine industry. She has been a director of Wine Market Council since 1996 and is currently its Chairman. She was on the board of California Association of Winegrape Growers for nine years, serving as Chairman for two years.
Heidi enjoys all forms of exercise, in particular running and hiking. She has hiked all over California, including Mt. Whitney twice, and celebrated her 50th birthday by summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro. Heidi has three children, Siena, Cooper and Owen, and an adorable rescue mutt named Peanut.
